The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

GDPR comes into force on May 25 2018.

GDPR places new obligations on the shoulders of organisations and businesses that collect personal data on how that data is collected and processed.

Businesses will not be able to plead ignorance of the new regulations as non-compliance will result in fines of up to 4% of annual turnover. GDPR will require all businesses to review their policies, procedures, contacts, processing activities and IT to assess compliance.

This practical discussion, facilitated by Ruth Hallinan of DPSolutions, who is an industry expert on the matter, looks at the key changes to data protection law that will apply under GDPR and provides guidance on what companies should do now in order to prepare.
