Presentation of Cheque to Wicklow Tidy Towns

Wicklow Town & District Chamber of Commerce recently paid tribute to the work carried out by Wicklow Tidy Towns and in particular to their achievement of a Bronze Medal in the National Tidy Towns Competition.

The marks achieved this year by Wicklow Tidy Towns Association were the highest ever marks achieved by them and they just missed out on receiving a silver medal by two points.

As part of the Chamber’s continued programme of engagement with volunteer groups, the Treasurer of Wicklow Chamber of Commerce, was delighted to present Wicklow Tidy Towns with a cheque for €1000. This is the 10th year that the Chamber has financially supported them in recognition of their continued contribution to making Wicklow Town a better place to live, work, shop and play.

At the presentation, the President of Wicklow Chamber of Commerce, Pascal Burke acknowledged the very ambitious programme of activity planned by Wicklow Tidy Towns for 2017 which will enable them to achieve further substantial increases in their marks, and to ultimately move them closer to winning the National Competition which would have a substantial benefit to the local retail and tourist economy.
